For 20 years they had a chair next to the bed, as they could not find suitable nightstands. The problem was they wanted it to match with an antique dressing table that is also in the bedroom. But they did not want their nightstands to be heavy and massive. “It just needs to store our condoms, alarmclock and telephone. That’s all”. They showed me some pieces of furniture in their house that they liked.

Dirk Jan’s comment about the design: “It is a great combination of air and wood. The asymmetric shape and of course the inlays make it playful.” The veneer pattern continuing in two different levels, he even calls humorous. “And that is well suited for us”.

Anne Marieke was also happy with the process and the result. She later ordered a bookcase for her office.
